The Compliance Officer is responsible for assisting in all aspects of conformance across our client's Isle of Man and UK locations, ensuring adherence to laws, regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures, and for coordinating the management of all risks identified. Reporting to the Head of Risk & Compliance, the principal duties and responsibilities include:
- Maintaining awareness of relevant legislation and regulation
- Providing pragmatic and practical regulatory interpretation, guidance and advice
- Assisting in the establishment, implementation and maintenance of clear and concise policies, procedures, and standards
- Managing and updating the Risk & Compliance Monitoring Programme
- Assisting in the provision of accurate management information and reports to regulators and other committees
- Supporting staff to nurture the risk and compliance culture across the business
- Collaborating with the Risk Officer and supporting group-wide projects
Qualifications
- A relevant professional qualification is essential - risk, compliance, financial crime prevention, data security, financial services administration
Knowledge, Experience & Abilities
- Demonstrable experience and skill of risk and compliance functions in the fund/investment industry
- Working knowledge of regulatory framework and requirements of Isle of Man, UK, Ireland, and South Africa
- Broad-based knowledge of offshore financial services industry
- Excellent communication skills with well-developed and confident training skills
