FINANCE SYSTEMS AND PROJECTS ASSISTANT | ref.MF42

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our client’s busy Finance Systems and Projects team.

Reporting to the Finance & System Technical Specialist, this position’s primary focus is assisting in the delivery of Business as Usual functions as well as project work aligned to Group strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily support to the finance function to ensure user access, chart of accounts updates and general system queries are dealt with.

Take a lead in the administration of the Group Purchase order system IPOS ensuring setup and authorisation hierarchies are maintained as well as looking at process improvements.

Support of the bespoke Finance Data Hub solution.

Assisting the team in projects both finance specific as well as group wide. Contributing to requirements gathering, development, testing and implementation where required.

Build efficiencies by reviewing existing processes and systems to provide recommendations for change across the finance function.

Take a pro-active role in the implementation/upgrades of accounts systems, controls and procedures.

Provide support for the reconciliation of System control accounts. Review and analyse the results, liaising with various internal stakeholders and take the necessary corrective action if required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

A minimum of 2 years’ previous experience within a Financial Services company.

Policy life cycle knowledge would be desirable.

Experience of using and administering finance packages, including SUN, or a similar accounting package, and Accurate, or a similar reconciliation package.

High level of analytical & numerical skills with the ability to work with and interpret large volumes of data.

A good working knowledge of MS Office and in particular Excel.

Basic knowledge of databases and SQL Server Management Services would be beneficial.

Ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues as well as internal and external Stakeholders.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Good organisational and problem-solving skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Hold or willing to work towards AAT/CAT qualifications.
