A fantastic new position has opened with our client to join them as a NOC Engineer. This is an interesting and diverse, technically focused role for someone who has a love of technology and sport and thrives under pressure. Day to day you will be working within the NOC (Network Operations Centre) team monitoring live systems, networks and video platforms while also supporting MCR in the acquisition and delivery of live video.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Manage and maintain the Monitoring Systems.
Fault handling and escalation (identifying and responding to faults on all systems and networks.
Monitor CDN (Content Delivery Network) using monitoring tools, checking for throughput, latency, and QOS.
Liaising with 3rd party suppliers, handling escalation through to resolution.
Consider service up time as high priority.
Satellite downlinking, decryption & decoding.
Management of IP contribution circuits.
Identification and prevention of any potential issues regarding the network.
Ensure that channels and feeds are routed onto client channels as required.
Fault management and tracking.
Ensure a high level of support to clients whilst adhering to strict company SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
3 years’ experience within an IT role.
Experience of working in a technical service environment.
Rock solid desktop applications knowledge.
Strong interest in working with web technologies and basic web applications.
Ability to translate and communicate technical information so that it can be clearly understood by customers and colleagues.
Ability to prioritise workload to meet targets.
Sound organisational skills.
Prepared to work weekends and evenings when required.
Access to own car/transport.
Excellent team player.
Previous experience with satellite/ IP ingest.
Knowledge of satellite TV and or global broadcasters.
Experience working in a support desk environment.
Experience in betting / gaming industry.
Knowledge of encryptions, working consumer and commercial encryptions.
Knowledge of IRD’s and enthusiast consumer grade STB’s.
Knowledge of commercial AV and RF infrastructures.
Prior experience of shift work.
Previous experience within an MCR environment.
