Job Description

Are you an experienced Vendor Manager with a background in supply chain operations? Our client, a leading organisation in the financial services sector, is seeking a Technical Vendor Manager to manage third-party vendors and ensure service excellence across their operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a team and work with key stakeholders, ensuring suppliers meet performance standards, compliance, and commercial obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with technical vendors, ensuring they meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and adhere to company policies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide guidance on vendor performance and ensure alignment with group policies and best practices.
  • Oversee the selection, onboarding, and management of new suppliers in coordination with IT contracts and procurement specialists.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews, ensuring accurate reporting and timely delivery.
  • Identify and manage risks, raising them through appropriate channels and ensuring resolution.
  • Address performance issues with vendors, developing and managing Service Improvement Plans (SIPs) where necessary.
  • Work closely with teams to support incident management, particularly during major incidents or service failures involving vendors.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technology solutions, and the vendor landscape to ensure best-in-class service delivery.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management practices, ideally within a financial services setting.
  • Proven experience in vendor or relationship management, with the ability to manage stakeholders across multiple levels and locations.
  • Experience in outsourced technical environments is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach.
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to perform well under pressure.
